Artificial Intelligence and Human Society: An Overview of Opportunities and Challenges
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other modern technologies have the potential to enrich and empower human society, yet they also pose challenges to human values and norms. AI is an important new technology, impacting domestic and global human society. This study aims to explore the dynamic relationship between technology and human society, presuming that technology is not good or bad but its application is good or bad. It presents a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and challenges posed by AI. To do this, this study adopts qualitative research methodologies utilizing library-based research methods. This paper is supported by putting historical and shariah perspectives on the evolutionary relationship between technology and society. Furthermore, the paper examines the diverse applications of AI across societal domains and proposes strategies for responsible integration across various fields. In essence, this paper serves as a beacon for scholars and academics, encouraging more research into AI's complex dynamics and profound impact on society.
