راجن پور کی خواتین اساتذہ کو درپیش سماجی، معاشی اور ثقافتی چیلنجز: راجن پور کے تناظر میں ایک مطالعاتی جائزہ
Abstract
Female teachers in Rajanpur, a remote district in southern Punjab, play a vital role in education but face many obstacles. The region’s conservative and tribal traditions limit women’s freedom and mobility. While teaching is considered respectable, societal expectations often prevent women from working in distant schools or participating fully in professional activities. Many cannot travel alone, and some families oppose their work outside the home. In addition, the lack of secure and reliable transportation increases their vulnerability, especially in areas with weak infrastructure and law enforcement. Economically, female teachers are disadvantaged with low and delayed salaries, particularly for those on contract. The absence of basic facilities like daycare centers makes it difficult for mothers to balance work and family. Without access to training and professional development, their careers often stagnate, affecting both their personal growth and the quality of education they provide. Cultural barriers, including strict codes of behavior and early marriage pressures, further limit their opportunities. Despite these challenges, many show remarkable resilience and advocate for girls’ education. Structural reforms such as safe transport, fair pay, training, and awareness campaigns are essential to empower them and advance education in the region.
