Abstract

Protection of humanity and promotion of human values are the fundamental concerns of the contemporary era. Respecting humanity is the mother of all human values, and the goals of humanity consist of several goals, either material or moral. Individual and collective efforts have been made to safeguard human norms around the world. The Muslim world ensured human dignity, and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, being the oldest Islamic institute, played a vital role in the promotion of human values. It encouraged human dignity in society, security, peace, etc. Both the mosque and the university are often seen as distinguished parts of contemporary Islamic history. This institute is also considered a reference to the ideal of moderate and constructive religious speech. It nowadays plays a role in both religion and politics, one that suits its history, rank, and great consensus among Muslims. This paper explores the contribution of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif to the awareness of human values. It describes its roles regarding human respect and the promotion of human norms in the present era. This research brings significant knowledge about Islamic institutions, society, and the peace of the world. It introduces some recommendations to adopt this role in all educational and mentoring institutions.
